Meu can be played in single player or multiplayer modes. We’ve tested Meu with hundreds of users, it works best with people who love dancing. They tell us they don’t want to come out! But almost everyone who has tried it including VR veterans says “wow” even if they only try it for a few minutes.
single player mode:
Meu is a next generation photo booth that lets users record their movements while they control the music with their moves and create gifs like this:
After recording their gif they can then send it to them-self or to friends directly from within VR by typing an email on our giant keyboard.
Multiplayer mode
let’s 2 users play with each other and send and receive Meu messages and dance and interact with each other’s messages. This is a whole new way to communicate and find a deeper connection with friends.
The user interface was designed specifically for first time VR users. There is no need to use or remember any controller button and no menus. Users just touch the orb they want (blue is peaceful filter and red is explosive filter), the orb gets attached to their hand and then they touch the center of the container that they want to activate (Rec, Playback, Send…) Here is a video demoing the user interface. Make sure users are in the center of the play-space when starting the game as the world will be set around them.
To activate multiplayer mode, the arcade manager needs to:
- click the multiplayer button on start of game.
- Connect the different stations by writing down the station ID to connect to as seen in the video.
- Press update.
Each station you use Meu on will automatically get a different ID the first time you play the game. When you press update the station ID you connect to will be saved and next time you just click multiplayer mode and don’t need to put in the station ID if you are connecting to the same station.
See the video for details:
Users will receive push notifications when they get a new message. They need to take the orb and put it in Home container where an inbox with a new orb will appear. They take that new orb and put it in playback to see and interact with that message. When they put the message into playback their movements are automatically being recorded too. So after playing the message back and dancing or interacting with it they can immediately take the “auto reply” orb and put it into the send bubble in order to send their friend a quick reply.
We suggest you challenge users by asking them if they can send each other a hi five, a hug, or invent a secret handshake together.
Other features:
Morph avatar – opens a control panel that let’s users change how their avatar looks, how big it is, the colors and the effects. Press down and slid your hand on the sliders in the control panel as if they were a rubber bands to change the avatar. You can turn off the body or the particle effects. Its FUN!
Add text to the gif: arcade managers can add text to the gif which is especially fun for events, like birthday parties or team building, by typing into the text box directly on the screen and pressing update. Text will be saved for the next game so remember to delete for players who don’t want the text.
Mixed reality – We implemented both liv and Mix Cast SDK so Meu should work out of the box with either of these mixed reality set ups. We would love to see your dancing videos!
Using Meu to get more users to your arcade!
Meu lets users show their friends how cool VR is by sharing gifs of their dances and moves. If you want to customize the gif with your arcade logo, like the example bellow.
The first time you use Meu just add a URL with a link to your logo.
